A clock is a thing you look at fifty times a day, so it may as well earn its wall. This one is a slim metal ring hung from a single stem, with the dial floating free in the middle of it and an LED halo glowing out from behind onto the wall.

The effect only works because of the gap. The dial sits proud of the wall on hidden brackets, so the backlight escapes around the edge and the whole ring reads as a lit object at night, and as a piece of quiet metalwork by day. The numerals are cut to 12, 3, 6 and 9 with bar hands, which keeps it readable across a room.

Two sizes: 23.6 inches overall with a 14 inch ring for a dining or living room wall, or 19.7 inches with a 12 inch ring where the wall is narrower. Three finishes — matte black, matte white or brushed gold. The movement is battery operated, so no cable runs down your wall.
