It reads movement from roughly ten to twenty feet away across a 120 degree spread, comes on by itself, and switches off again once you have gone. A remote and a timer are included if you would rather run it by hand. The dimmable version steps from warm white through to daylight; the RGB version does all of that and adds full colour, for when you want the light setting a mood rather than doing a job.
