Most vintage porch lights are boxes. This one is a teardrop — a rounded glass shade under a curved arm, which softens the whole fixture and stops it looking like a coach lamp bolted to the wall.

The frame is black aluminum and the shade is clear glass, so the bulb shows through and the light spreads around the fixture instead of only downward. It suits modern farmhouse, transitional and lightly rustic exteriors, and it is restrained enough not to fight with the door.

Standard E27 socket in 6W or 8W, so the bulb is a choice rather than a fixed part — and replacing it later is a two-minute job. IP54 rated, which means a porch, a covered patio or a wall under an eave. Hardwired at 110V.
