Description

Real travertine, cut and finished rather than moulded to look like it. Every piece has its own pore pattern and its own tonal shifts through the yellow, which is the reason to buy stone in the first place — yours will not be identical to the one in the photograph, and that is the point.

The silhouette runs long and horizontal, hugging the wall instead of projecting into the room. That makes it work in the places a conventional sconce does not: above a headboard where you do not want to knock your head on it, along a hallway, or across a wide feature wall where a small round fitting would look lost. It throws light both up and down, so you get two soft gradients washing the wall rather than one hard pool.

The glass element diffuses the G9 source so you are not looking at a bare filament. G9 means the bulb is replaceable — a real advantage over an integrated LED you cannot service. It carries an IP44 rating, which covers everyday humidity and splashes, and it is hardwired at 110V. Two styles and three sizes, from 23.6 up to 47.2 inches.

Highlights

Common Questions
Will mine look exactly like the photograph?

No, and that is deliberate. This is natural travertine, so the pore pattern and the tonal shifts through the yellow are different on every piece. The shape and size are consistent; the stone itself is not.

What is the difference between Type A and Type B?

They are two different silhouettes of the same fixture, both in travertine with a glass element and both available in all three lengths. Compare the first two gallery images to see them side by side before choosing.

How high should I mount it?

Around 60 to 66 inches off the floor on an open wall, or about 6 to 8 inches above a headboard. Because it runs long and horizontal it wants a wall with room either side - allow at least a foot of clear wall at each end.

Can I put it in a bathroom?

The IP44 rating covers everyday humidity and light splashing, so a well-ventilated bathroom away from the shower is reasonable. It is classed as an indoor fixture, so do not use it outside or inside a shower enclosure.

Is the bulb included, and can I replace it?

It uses a standard G9 bulb, which means it is serviceable - you can swap it yourself and choose your own colour temperature and brightness. That is a real advantage over a sealed integrated LED you cannot service.

Does it really light both up and down?

Yes. Light leaves both the top and the bottom, so you get two soft gradients washing the wall above and below rather than one pool. It is accent and ambient light, not a reading light.

How bright will this be, and how do I compare it to others?

Brightness is measured in lumens, not watts, so a low wattage LED can easily outshine an older bulb that draws far more power. The figures for this fixture are listed in the Details & Specifications dropdown above.

As a guide, accent and bedside lights are designed to shape a mood rather than flood a room, while ceiling, wall and post lights run brighter because they cover a wider area.

Do I need an electrician to install this?

It depends on how the fixture is powered. Solar, rechargeable and plug in fixtures need no wiring, and most people fit them themselves with basic tools.

Hardwired fixtures connect to your mains supply, and we recommend a qualified electrician for those. The Power Supply row in Details & Specifications tells you which one you are looking at.

Will it survive rain, snow and heat?

Outdoor fixtures carry an IP rating, shown as Waterproof in Details & Specifications. IP65 means fully sealed against dust and protected against water jets from any direction, which covers ordinary rain and snow.

Materials matter just as much. Aluminum and stainless bodies with tempered glass or polycarbonate shades hold their finish outdoors far better than all plastic fittings.

What will the light actually look like?

That comes down to color temperature, listed per product in Details & Specifications. Warm white around 3000K is a soft, slightly yellow light that suits homes and gardens.

Higher numbers look cooler and more blue white. That reads as brighter, but it is far less inviting in a living space.

How many do I need for my space?

Even spacing matters more than sheer quantity. A pair either side of a door or gate is the usual starting point.

For a fence line, path or driveway, most runs look right at four to eight fixtures spaced evenly apart. Gaps that are too wide leave dark patches between pools of light, which reads worse than fewer fixtures spaced properly.
