Common Questions

Is the price for a single light?

No, and this one is different from the rest of the range. The price is for a set of 4 lights, all controlled by one remote.

Do they need wiring?

No. Each light is rechargeable over USB and mounts magnetically, with adhesive or with screws. That is the point of them for a gallery wall in a rented flat.

How long do they run?

Up to about 12 hours per charge, less at full brightness. The remote lets you switch them all off together at the end of the evening.

Does one remote control all of them?

Yes, the remote handles the set, so you are not touching each light individually.

How many should I get?

One light per piece for a small gallery wall. For a run of large canvases people usually run two per piece to avoid a hot spot in the middle.

Can I change the light color?

Yes, warm, cool and natural white, and it dims. Warm is the usual choice for artwork on a painted wall.

How bright will this be, and how do I compare it to others?

Brightness is measured in lumens, not watts, so a low wattage LED can easily outshine an older bulb that draws far more power. The figures for this fixture are listed in the Details & Specifications dropdown above.

As a guide, accent and bedside lights are designed to shape a mood rather than flood a room, while ceiling, wall and post lights run brighter because they cover a wider area.

Do I need an electrician to install this?

It depends on how the fixture is powered. Solar, rechargeable and plug in fixtures need no wiring, and most people fit them themselves with basic tools.

Hardwired fixtures connect to your mains supply, and we recommend a qualified electrician for those. The Power Supply row in Details & Specifications tells you which one you are looking at.

What will the light actually look like?

That comes down to color temperature, listed per product in Details & Specifications. Warm white around 3000K is a soft, slightly yellow light that suits homes and gardens.

Higher numbers look cooler and more blue white. That reads as brighter, but it is far less inviting in a living space.
