Common Questions

How do I charge it?

The battery detaches from the lamp. Take it down, charge it, and clip it back. The lamp stays on the wall.

How do I turn it on?

Pull chain on the lamp, or the remote. The remote also dims it.

Does it need an electrician?

No. There is no wiring. It mounts to the wall with the included hardware.

Is the price for one sconce?

Yes. Ordering 2 or more applies a discount automatically at checkout, which is the usual way to do a pair beside a bed.

How bright will this be, and how do I compare it to others?

Brightness is measured in lumens, not watts, so a low wattage LED can easily outshine an older bulb that draws far more power. The figures for this fixture are listed in the Details & Specifications dropdown above.

As a guide, accent and bedside lights are designed to shape a mood rather than flood a room, while ceiling, wall and post lights run brighter because they cover a wider area.

Do I need an electrician to install this?

It depends on how the fixture is powered. Solar, rechargeable and plug in fixtures need no wiring, and most people fit them themselves with basic tools.

Hardwired fixtures connect to your mains supply, and we recommend a qualified electrician for those. The Power Supply row in Details & Specifications tells you which one you are looking at.

What will the light actually look like?

That comes down to color temperature, listed per product in Details & Specifications. Warm white around 3000K is a soft, slightly yellow light that suits homes and gardens.

Higher numbers look cooler and more blue white. That reads as brighter, but it is far less inviting in a living space.
