Description

Plain dome fixtures do little for a kitchen or hallway, and solid shades leave the ceiling dark.

These flush mount light fixtures have a clear ribbed glass drum under a powder-coated steel frame. The ribbed glass spreads light evenly and casts a soft striped pattern on the ceiling. It takes two standard 60W Type A bulbs (sold separately) and works with dimmable bulbs. Hardwired, 110 to 240 volt.

Finish: brass or black. Size: 14 in wide x 14 in deep x 8 in high, about 7.7 lb.

Common Questions

How is it installed?

It mounts to a standard ceiling junction box and is hardwired. An electrician can install it quickly if you have not wired a fixture before.

What bulbs does it take?

Two standard Type A bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately. Use dimmable bulbs if you want to put it on a dimmer.

How big is it?

It is 14 in wide and 8 in high, a good size for kitchens, hallways and bedrooms with standard 8 to 9 ft ceilings.

Will the ribbed glass make the room dim?

No. The glass is clear, so light passes through and the ribs spread it evenly with a soft striped pattern on the ceiling.

Brass or black finish?

Brass reads warm and classic. Black gives a crisp farmhouse contrast. Both use the same clear ribbed glass.

What if it's not right?

You have 30 days. If it's not right, send it back and we'll refund you. If anything arrives damaged, we replace it.

How bright will this be, and how do I compare it to others?

Brightness is measured in lumens, not watts, so a low wattage LED can easily outshine an older bulb that draws far more power. The figures for this fixture are listed in the Details & Specifications dropdown above.

As a guide, accent and bedside lights are designed to shape a mood rather than flood a room, while ceiling, wall and post lights run brighter because they cover a wider area.

Do I need an electrician to install this?

It depends on how the fixture is powered. Solar, rechargeable and plug in fixtures need no wiring, and most people fit them themselves with basic tools.

Hardwired fixtures connect to your mains supply, and we recommend a qualified electrician for those. The Power Supply row in Details & Specifications tells you which one you are looking at.

What will the light actually look like?

That comes down to color temperature, listed per product in Details & Specifications. Warm white around 3000K is a soft, slightly yellow light that suits homes and gardens.

Higher numbers look cooler and more blue white. That reads as brighter, but it is far less inviting in a living space.
