Common Questions

How is it installed?

It mounts flush to a standard ceiling junction box and is hardwired like most ceiling lights. An electrician can install it quickly if you have not wired a fixture before.

What bulb does it take?

The 14 in and 11 in sizes take one standard E26 bulb. The 5 in size takes one G9 bulb. Bulbs are not included.

Which size should I choose?

The 5 in size suits closets, small halls and porches. The 11 in size fits hallways, baths and small bedrooms. The 14 in size is for bedrooms, kitchens and larger rooms.

Is it good for low ceilings?

Yes. It sits flush to the ceiling and the 11 in and 14 in sizes are only 7 in tall, so it keeps head room in halls and bedrooms.

What colors are available?

White, green, black, red, orange and yellow, all with a gold canopy.

What if it's not right?

You have 30 days. If it's not right, send it back and we'll refund you. If anything arrives damaged, we replace it.

How bright will this be, and how do I compare it to others?

Brightness is measured in lumens, not watts, so a low wattage LED can easily outshine an older bulb that draws far more power. The figures for this fixture are listed in the Details & Specifications dropdown above.

As a guide, accent and bedside lights are designed to shape a mood rather than flood a room, while ceiling, wall and post lights run brighter because they cover a wider area.

Do I need an electrician to install this?

It depends on how the fixture is powered. Solar, rechargeable and plug in fixtures need no wiring, and most people fit them themselves with basic tools.

Hardwired fixtures connect to your mains supply, and we recommend a qualified electrician for those. The Power Supply row in Details & Specifications tells you which one you are looking at.

What will the light actually look like?

That comes down to color temperature, listed per product in Details & Specifications. Warm white around 3000K is a soft, slightly yellow light that suits homes and gardens.

Higher numbers look cooler and more blue white. That reads as brighter, but it is far less inviting in a living space.
