Common Questions

How big a room will it heat?

It is rated for rooms up to 300 sq ft, like a living room or a large bedroom.

What safety features does it have?

It has tip-over shutoff, overheat protection, a child safety lock and a V0 flame-retardant housing. It is ETL certified.

Can I use the flame effect without heat?

Yes. The 7 color flame effect runs on its own, so you can use it as ambient light with the heat off.

Is it loud?

No. It runs at about 35 dB, and the display switches off after 3 minutes so it will not light up a bedroom at night.

What does it plug into?

Any standard 120V household outlet. No wiring or install needed.

What if it's not right?

You have 30 days. If it's not right, send it back and we'll refund you. If anything arrives damaged, we replace it.

How bright will this be, and how do I compare it to others?

Brightness is measured in lumens, not watts, so a low wattage LED can easily outshine an older bulb that draws far more power. The figures for this fixture are listed in the Details & Specifications dropdown above.

As a guide, accent and bedside lights are designed to shape a mood rather than flood a room, while ceiling, wall and post lights run brighter because they cover a wider area.

Do I need an electrician to install this?

It depends on how the fixture is powered. Solar, rechargeable and plug in fixtures need no wiring, and most people fit them themselves with basic tools.

Hardwired fixtures connect to your mains supply, and we recommend a qualified electrician for those. The Power Supply row in Details & Specifications tells you which one you are looking at.

What will the light actually look like?

That comes down to color temperature, listed per product in Details & Specifications. Warm white around 3000K is a soft, slightly yellow light that suits homes and gardens.

Higher numbers look cooler and more blue white. That reads as brighter, but it is far less inviting in a living space.
