Common Questions

Do I need an electrician?

It is hardwired to a wall electrical box and has no plug. If you have not wired a light before, have an electrician fit it.

Which length should I get?

Match it to the furniture below. 23.6 to 31.5 in suits a nightstand or small wall, 39.4 to 47.2 in suits a queen or king headboard, 59 in suits a long sofa or console.

What does stepless dimming mean?

That version adjusts brightness and color from warm 3000K to cool 6000K. The other versions are fixed warm white or cool white.

Do I need to buy a bulb?

No. The LED is built in, from 11W on the 23.6 in bar up to 29W on the 59 in bar.

Which finish should I pick?

Natural wood is lighter and suits white walls, oak and pale furniture. Walnut is darker and suits mid-century pieces and darker wood.

What if it's not right?

You have 30 days. If it's not right, send it back and we'll refund you. If anything arrives damaged, we replace it.

How bright will this be, and how do I compare it to others?

Brightness is measured in lumens, not watts, so a low wattage LED can easily outshine an older bulb that draws far more power. The figures for this fixture are listed in the Details & Specifications dropdown above.

As a guide, accent and bedside lights are designed to shape a mood rather than flood a room, while ceiling, wall and post lights run brighter because they cover a wider area.

Do I need an electrician to install this?

It depends on how the fixture is powered. Solar, rechargeable and plug in fixtures need no wiring, and most people fit them themselves with basic tools.

Hardwired fixtures connect to your mains supply, and we recommend a qualified electrician for those. The Power Supply row in Details & Specifications tells you which one you are looking at.

What will the light actually look like?

That comes down to color temperature, listed per product in Details & Specifications. Warm white around 3000K is a soft, slightly yellow light that suits homes and gardens.

Higher numbers look cooler and more blue white. That reads as brighter, but it is far less inviting in a living space.
