Description

The worry with an LED island light is the light itself: too cold, too bright, or flickering on the wrong switch. This curved linear pendant lets you pick the light before you buy: warm white 3000K, white 6000K, or a dimmable version that moves between the two. The LEDs are built in, 30W on the 39 inch size and 60W on the 47 inch size.

The 39 inch size suits an island about 5 to 6.5 feet long. The 47 inch size suits about 6 to 8 feet. It is a curved metal bar with a white silicone shade, in black, gold or chrome.

It is hardwired, 110V, and runs from a standard wall switch, for indoor use. Have a second person hold the bar while it is connected. If you have not wired a fixture before, we recommend an electrician.

Common Questions

Which length fits my island?

A linear light usually looks right at about half to two-thirds the length of the island. The 39 inch suits islands about 5 to 6.5 feet long, and the 47 inch suits about 6 to 8 feet.

Can I install it myself?

It is hardwired to a standard ceiling box, 110V, on a wall switch. Have a second person hold the bar while it is connected. If you have not wired a fixture before, we recommend an electrician.

Will it be too bright or too cold? Can I dim it?

Warm white 3000K is the softer choice for a kitchen or dining room. White 6000K is a cooler, bluer white. Only the Dimmable option dims, so if you plan to use your existing wall dimmer, contact us before you order to confirm it will work.

Does it look cheap in person?

The bar is metal and the shade is white silicone, not glass, so there is nothing to shatter. If it does not look right in person, you can return it within 30 days.

What if it arrives bent or scratched?

If it arrives damaged, contact us and we replace it.

Will the gold or chrome match the photos?

Screens show metal finishes differently, especially gold. If the finish is not what you expected, you can return it within 30 days.

How high should I hang it over the island?

Over an island or table, the bottom of the light usually sits 30 to 36 inches above the counter with an 8 foot ceiling. Add about 3 inches for each extra foot of ceiling.

What if it does not work in my room?

You have 30 days to return it for a refund. Return shipping on a change of mind is paid by you. If it arrives damaged, we replace it.

How bright will this be, and how do I compare it to others?

Brightness is measured in lumens, not watts, so a low wattage LED can easily outshine an older bulb that draws far more power. The figures for this fixture are listed in the Details & Specifications dropdown above.

As a guide, accent and bedside lights are designed to shape a mood rather than flood a room, while ceiling, wall and post lights run brighter because they cover a wider area.

Do I need an electrician to install this?

It depends on how the fixture is powered. Solar, rechargeable and plug in fixtures need no wiring, and most people fit them themselves with basic tools.

Hardwired fixtures connect to your mains supply, and we recommend a qualified electrician for those. The Power Supply row in Details & Specifications tells you which one you are looking at.

What will the light actually look like?

That comes down to color temperature, listed per product in Details & Specifications. Warm white around 3000K is a soft, slightly yellow light that suits homes and gardens.

Higher numbers look cooler and more blue white. That reads as brighter, but it is far less inviting in a living space.
