Description

Most wall lights in a hallway or beside a bed need an electrician and a wire run inside the wall.

This battery operated sconce is a slim metal bar with a white acrylic diffuser and a round center fitting. A motion sensor turns it on when someone walks by and off again once there is no more movement. The built-in battery charges by USB and gives about 10 hours of use on a full charge, with about 3 hours to recharge. Warm 3000K light.

Four lengths, 23.6, 31.5, 39.4 or 47.2 inches, in black or gold. A USB charging cable and plug are included.

Common Questions

How long does the battery last?

About 10 hours of light per full charge. The motion sensor turns it off when no one is around, which makes each charge go further.

How do I charge it?

Use the USB cable and plug that come in the box. A full recharge takes about 3 hours.

How is it mounted? Do I need an outlet?

It screws to the wall. There is no wiring, and once it is charged it does not need an outlet nearby.

How does the motion sensor work?

It turns on when it detects movement and turns off on its own once movement stops. It does not stay on all the time.

Which length should I get?

All four sit 3.9 inches off the wall. 23.6 in suits a bedside or narrow hallway, 31.5 to 39.4 in a standard hallway or stair wall, and 47.2 in a long wall or above a wide bed.

What if it's not right?

You have 30 days. If it's not right, send it back and we'll refund you. If anything arrives damaged, we replace it.

How bright will this be, and how do I compare it to others?

Brightness is measured in lumens, not watts, so a low wattage LED can easily outshine an older bulb that draws far more power. The figures for this fixture are listed in the Details & Specifications dropdown above.

As a guide, accent and bedside lights are designed to shape a mood rather than flood a room, while ceiling, wall and post lights run brighter because they cover a wider area.

Do I need an electrician to install this?

It depends on how the fixture is powered. Solar, rechargeable and plug in fixtures need no wiring, and most people fit them themselves with basic tools.

Hardwired fixtures connect to your mains supply, and we recommend a qualified electrician for those. The Power Supply row in Details & Specifications tells you which one you are looking at.

What will the light actually look like?

That comes down to color temperature, listed per product in Details & Specifications. Warm white around 3000K is a soft, slightly yellow light that suits homes and gardens.

Higher numbers look cooler and more blue white. That reads as brighter, but it is far less inviting in a living space.
