Common Questions

Does it need wiring or an outlet?

No. It runs on a built-in rechargeable battery and charges by USB from a wall adapter, laptop or power bank.

How do I mount it?

Fix the base to the wall with double-sided or nano adhesive tape, then attach the lamp to it by magnet. No drilling.

How long does it run?

Up to 4 hours on a full charge. Set the timer and it switches itself off if you fall asleep reading.

Is there a remote?

Yes. Use the remote or touch the lamp to dim it, set the timer and switch between warm 3000K, neutral 4000K and cool 6000K light.

Can I aim the light?

Yes. The head sits on a rotating joint, so you can point it at your book, a mirror or a piece of art.

What if it's not right?

You have 30 days. If it's not right, send it back and we'll refund you. If anything arrives damaged, we replace it.

How bright will this be, and how do I compare it to others?

Brightness is measured in lumens, not watts, so a low wattage LED can easily outshine an older bulb that draws far more power. The figures for this fixture are listed in the Details & Specifications dropdown above.

As a guide, accent and bedside lights are designed to shape a mood rather than flood a room, while ceiling, wall and post lights run brighter because they cover a wider area.

Do I need an electrician to install this?

It depends on how the fixture is powered. Solar, rechargeable and plug in fixtures need no wiring, and most people fit them themselves with basic tools.

Hardwired fixtures connect to your mains supply, and we recommend a qualified electrician for those. The Power Supply row in Details & Specifications tells you which one you are looking at.

What will the light actually look like?

That comes down to color temperature, listed per product in Details & Specifications. Warm white around 3000K is a soft, slightly yellow light that suits homes and gardens.

Higher numbers look cooler and more blue white. That reads as brighter, but it is far less inviting in a living space.
